Wheat processing: flour milling, semolina and storage
From silo to flour or semolina bag, every point of extraction rate counts. We help flour and semolina mills produce more, better and safely.
Soft wheat becomes flour; durum wheat becomes semolina for couscous and pasta. Either way, performance depends on good storage, controlled cleaning and conditioning, and a well-tuned milling diagram.
We work on new builds and extensions, on how production is organised, and on quality: control of insects, mycotoxins and foreign bodies.
Key process steps
- 01
Receiving and storage
Sampling, checks, aeration and temperature monitoring in silos.
- 02
Cleaning
Separators, destoners, indented cylinders, aspirators, scourers and optical sorting.
- 03
Conditioning
Dampening and tempering to prepare the grain for milling.
- 04
Milling
Roller mills, plansifters, purifiers (semolina).
- 05
Blending and treatment
Flour correction and enrichment to specification.
- 06
Packing and dispatch
Bagging, bulk loading, lot traceability.
The challenges we see
- Extraction rate below potential
- Stored-grain infestation and storage losses
- Dust explosion risk (ATEX)
- Consistent flour and semolina quality
How we help
- Project study: capacity, diagram, equipment, building
- Stock monitoring and integrated pest management plan
- HACCP, ISO 22000 and allergen management
- Maintenance of rolls and critical equipment
- Organising wheat sourcing and stock levels
Standards and frameworks
- Moroccan law 28-07 and ONSSA
- HACCP / ISO 22000
- ATEX (dust) regulations
- Flour and semolina specifications
